SCAT Enterprises founder Tom Lieb talks about the early days of the aftermarket business and starting SCAT, an American crankshaft company.
In the video, The Beginning of an American Crankshaft Company, Lieb walks us through his teen years of tinkering on engines, talks about car culture of the late 1950s, and details how he first got into the automotive industry.
Started in 1964, SCAT Enterprises has since become a brand with international influence in the automotive aftermarket space. In addition to connecting rods, SCAT produces high-quality cast, forged, and billet steel crankshafts for the automotive racing industry. All SCAT crankshafts feature American machining completed in SCAT’s Redondo Beach, California, facility. Lieb is a pioneer in the automotive aftermarket space, having designed and produced parts for the auto industry’s most-famous companies and engine platforms.
