SCAT crankshafts, connecting rods and engine components have been used in and have won every type of racing, from Short Track to Indianapolis, Daytona 500, NASCAR, Top Fuel, Funny Car, Drag Racing, Road Racing and Off-Road racing.

SCAT products are used by GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota and Honda. SCAT’s innovations have led to the V-4 engine or prototype crankshaft, connecting rods and crate engine programs, which serve as the model for high-end racing applications and production engines.

Today, SCAT offers a complete line of crankshafts from stock replacement to custom billet, I-Beam and H-Beam connecting rods, and complete rotating assemblies for Chevy, Chevy LS, Ford, Ford Modular, Ford Vintage, Chrysler, Modern HEMI, Pontiac and Sport Compact vehicles.

Founded in 1970 by Ken Sperling, Air Flow Research pioneered the process of CNC porting cylinders heads which is now common practice in today’s automotive industry. Over the last 52 years AFR has been defining technological leadership and flow dynamics in the pursuit of increased performance. Utilizing modern manufacturing techniques and the latest in machinery, such as a Browne & Sharpe Coordinate Measuring Machine, fifteen Haas’ 5-AXIS CNC machines, two Mazaks, four Newen Epoch machines and two Mori Seiki 32 pallet systems, AFR stays true to this commitment by manufacturing each piece in its Valencia, California, facility just 30 minutes north of Los Angeles.
